MEIR'S SEXY NEW FINISHES

Loni Parker Kitchen_Adore Home Magzine Blog_1.jpg

Meir Australia are well known for their beautiful matte black tapware. Recently they have introduced a new range of finishes in their range and I’m smitten. Here’s a little look at what’s new.

MATTE BLACK

I’m a huge fan of black tapware, in fact, I own one of Meir’s stunning matte black taps in my kitchen (pictured in the first image). But when I found out Meir have now introduced a stunning new range of finishes I got pretty excited. Don’t get me wrong, I love my black tapware in my current kitchen, but for my future dream home, I may need to opt for one of their new finishes. Here’s a little look below at the sexy new range.

TIGER BRONZE

Utilising the natural charm of bronze and copper, Tiger Bronze adds unique character through its brushed black undercoating and clear lacquer coating. This look is probably my favourite out of all of them. Super luxurious!

CHROME

The flawless finish of Chrome is timeless and commonly referred to as the safe choice for renovators and builders. It certainly provides a classic look, that’s not going to date any time soon.

CHAMPAGNE

Moving into a luxury home isn’t complete without celebrating over premium Champagne. Subtle yet elegant, this range dares to push the boundaries of luxury tapware. I love that this colour sits somewhere between copper and brass, a beautiful finish wouldn’t you agree?!

If you’re headed to Paris, you’ll want to book yourself in to one of these five delightful boutique hotels – each filled with Parisian charm.

1 HOTEL HENRIETTE

Located in a small and quiet cobblestone street close to the Mouffetard district, Hotel Henriette offers a truly unique and intimate experience. Each of its 32 guest rooms are individually designed – with no two rooms the same! Quite often hotels provide cookie-cutter rooms – so it’s certainly refreshing when you stumble across a boutique hotel like this!

Other features to enjoy on your stay include a lounge with a wide selection of reading matter, a cosy flowered vintage backyard, a delicious breakfast and a city concierge service offering a friendly helping hand with your arrangements for travel, excursions, restaurant bookings, theatre tickets and anything else your heart desires. This hotel is the very epitome of an ultra cool, luxury and boutique holiday experience.

Located in the historic Montmartre district of Paris, Hotel Panache offers a sophisticated holiday experience with rooms that ooze sexy Parisian flair. The woven cane bedheads are somewhat of a signature feature throughout each of the rooms, yet each of the various rooms and suites have their own distinct style and colour palette.

The Restaurant Panache on the ground level of the hotel is a feast for the senses – it’s pure eye candy with herringbone floor, mosaic tiles, detailed wall moulding, brass trim and plush seating. Hotel Panache’s ooh la la interiors won’t disappoint.

3 HOTEL BIENVENUE

The brand new Hotel Bienvenue located in the Paris 9th district, offers an intimate and trendy escape thanks to its delicate sorbet-coloured interiors. We’ve fallen in love with each of the room’s plush, curved bedheads and statement sconces. It’s a little bit c’est magnifique, don’t you think?!

Be sure to step back in time to the hotel’s own glitzy Speakeasy bar. It’s a space that nods its head to an era of glitz and glamour. A perfect spot for a cocktail or two.

For lovers of French food, you can enjoy pastries made by Anais Olmer de Bogato and even take lessons in how to make your very own fine French pastries. Calm rooms and green spaces throughout the inside and exterior of the hotel will soothe your senses in a part of the city which is filled with vibrant life.

4 COQ HOTEL

Next on our list, is COQ - that’s short for Community of Quality, although le coq (French for rooster) does subtly pop its head up throughout the quirky interiors of this hotel (there’s even a chicken coop outside!). This cool hotel will certainly appeal to the young hipster crowd with its slightly kooky decor mixed with vintage accents and artworks.

There are three varieties of rooms on offer – the Classique (the smallest in size), the Superieure, and the Deluxe. All of which have a distinct yesteryear feel, complemented with modern amenities of course.

5 LE ROCH HOTEL

blog_le-roch-hotel-and-spa-deluxe-room-R-3.jpg

Warm, elegant and above all inviting, is how you would describe Le Roch Hotel. Parisian interior designer Sarah Lavoine has kept the colour palette for the most part, dark and moody with hits of punchy greens, turquoise blues and coral pinks. The rooms and suites on offer are available in five different colour schemes, and with only 37 rooms in the hotel, it ensures a boutique, personalised experience. A courtyard garden, sunny terrace, a spa and swimming pool give this hotel its 5 star edge.

Bonnie and Neil have been very busy of late, releasing their new Resort collection, along with an exciting collaboration with Byzantine Design.

Bonnie and Neil is such a well-loved and respected Australian homewares label – and for good reason! Their lively range of prints and love of colour makes their products perfect for our relaxed and casual Aussie lifestyle. When I spotted their new Resort collection it made my heart skip a beat. The colours are just divine, so perfect for Spring – if you’re wanting a hit of floral fancy in your home, you simply must invest in this range.

Another exciting range from Bonnie and Neil, is their new collaboration with Byzantine Design. Together they have released a vinyl rug and porcelain tile collection, with a nod to worldly influences. There are five distinct designs - 70s, Cuba, Aegean, Deco and Coastal – and let me tell you it’s hard to pick just one – I want them all! Personally, I’d love to own one of their vinyl rugs and position it in my outdoor courtyard – most of the designs have an encaustic tile look to them - which would be a great fix for covering ugly outdoor tiles (which I currently have!). You can shop the new Resort collection and range of flooring options through the Bonnie and Neil website by clicking here.

Tait's new Melbourne flagship store

Tait_Smith_Street_03_blog.jpg

For over 25 years Tait has been designing and producing outdoor furniture from its Melbourne base. Recently they unveiled their new Melbourne flagship store – providing customers with a complete outdoor living experience.

Tait_Smith_Street_02_blog.jpg

“This is an exciting time for Tait – it’s our first major flagship store, designed to showcase our entire range of products and bring our ethos of ‘A Life Outside’ into full, living colour,” said Tait Creative Director, Susan Tait.

The store, previously home to a major bank, has undergone an ambitious ‘inside out’ procedure which saw Tait with DesignOffice, strip the building back to its bare bones and use the raw, unrefined base to build a spacious, airy, light-filled space.

Tait_Smith_Street_07_blog.jpg

New display windows paved in grey brick have been added to the showroom’s west-facing street front, while lush greenery is strategically hung to filter a dappled filigree of leafy shadows and light into the space.

Looking to engage retail customers as well as design clients, Tait worked with DesignOffice to conceive a series of zones that would be at once enticing and relaxing. Customers are welcomed by the easy touch-points of a products and accessories zone – perfect for quick purchases, as well as a dedicated plant shop where customers can purchase planter boxes and indulge their passion for gardening and greening.

“The showroom really does have a wonderful vibe. The sense of landscape, the light from the north windows, the beautiful blue-greens of DesignOffice’s colour palette and the clever zoning: these all come together to create a
very peaceful, welcoming space,” said Susan.

Visit Tait’s Melbourne flagship store at 209-211 Smith St, Fitzroy. If you’re in Sydney you might also want to check out their new Sydney store at 4/9 Danks St, Waterloo. Or shop their range online by clicking here.

PRE-ORDER ADORE'S NEW BLISS EDITION

Bliss 1 adore_home_magazine_edition_spring.jpg

The brand new Bliss edition is available now for pre-order and is due to arrive here from the printers early next week. Here’s a little taste of what’s inside this gorgeous new Spring issue.

Flat lay photography + styling above The Design Villa

I tell you what, this issue really is pure bliss – we’ve got four gorgeous homes in this issue, with styles ranging from soothing simplicity and minimalist chic, to comfy coastal and Parisian flair. Our front cover home belonging to newly weds Catherine and Lachlan Ryan is a lesson in savvy transformations on a budget. Their master bedroom (pictured above) is so dreamy – loving that IKEA pendant light that looks almost like a fluffy cloud, and the grey easycraft panels create a cosy touch.

Fans of Matt and Kim (former contestants on TV show The Block and regular personalities for Perth-based show Matt and Kim To The Rescue), will adore their luxurious home with a distinct Parisian flavour (pictured above).

Paola Gredler’s minimalist Melbourne home is also a firm favourite of mine in this issue (pictured above). It might be clean and simple in style, but it also has a beautiful warmth to it – I can see all of our followers on Instagram loving this one!

Looking for bathroom inspiration? We’ve rounded up the 10 most blissful bathroom trends of 2017 – one of which is unique tiles (as exemplified in this beautiful bathroom above designed by GIA Bathrooms and Kitchens).

If it’s a Europe or UK adventure you’re planning - you’ll need to check out our hotel style feature. Featuring four extraordinary hotels with interiors so lust-worthy, you won’t want to leave. Case in point: London’s dreamy Scandinavian-meets-contemporary Leman Locke Hotel (pictured above). That pink staircase is heavenly.

Pre-order your copy of our Bliss edition through our online shop (for an early September delivery) by clicking here. Or simply purchase in newsagents from September 7.

Floral Prints to Adore

With Spring less than a month away, our minds have turned to spring-fresh florals. We’re seeing an abundance of floral prints and artworks being released lately – here’s a roundup of our favourites.

Florals are the hottest thing right now, in terms of art prints.

Forget the old nana-like flower tapestries of the 80s – today’s floral prints range from abstract beauties to detailed photography.

Artist Leah Bartholomew whose two new works are pictured above, has taken inspiration from the Sunshine Coast’s native flora. Her paintings have a collage-like feel – I just love the dreamy colours she uses too.

Digital artist Kimmy Hogan (whose work is pictured below and opposite), illustrates each of her print designs on computer – but even though she uses this medium, each shape is hand drawn with the mouse. I love the abstract nature of her designs – yet they’re still so recognisable as flower arrangements.

If photographic prints are more your style – you might like some of these. If I had a dollar for every time I got asked where this artwork (pictured above) was from, I’d be a rich woman. It’s called Garden Roses, and is a photograph by Anna Thomas (available here). It’s actually a rose dipped in liquid nitrogen and then captured shattering with a high speed camera. I love how delicate the petals look in this one – and the soft dusty pink is so pretty.

Other personal favourites include Ruthie by CS Photographic Art (pictured left) and The Perfect Match by Yorkelee Prints (pictured below). Can you tell my favourite colour is pink at the moment! Ha. Below I’ve rounded up 12 more gorgeous floral artworks in a variety of different styles and colours – happy shopping!

Introducing La Lune by Marble Basics

We are totally mesmerized by Marble Basics’ new La Lane collection – transforming everyday household basics into luxurious lust-worthy items.

There’s so much to love about the new pieces from Marble Basics – every piece is an object of beauty. Take for instance, their Buddy vases (priced from $59.95) – a glass globe that spins on an axis crafted in luxe marble. Perfect for small or large posies of flowers. Their new garden products (pictured at top of post), are also decadent – I totally need their Midnight watering can ($54.95) and garden tools ($69.95). And one can never have too many planters right? I might need to add their Nuit black planter ($74) to my shopping cart also.

Products for entertaining also feature, everything from marble coasters, gold swizzle sticks and bottle openers, to simply beautiful table linen. Everything is available now for pre-order and due to arrive in September, oh we can’t wait!
Check out their entire new range by clicking here.

Urban Road’s Rhapsody Collection

Since 2010 Urban Road have been creating original art and supplying beautiful prints to art lovers all over the globe. Their new Spring/Summer range is no exception, with the Rhapsody Collection possibly being one of their best.

Photography + styling Louise Roche, Villa Styling

Urban Road’s latest collection Rhapsody, pays homage to an Australian summer. Exploring the nostalgia of days gone by – the sun shining on freckled cheeks, moments spent in your favorite swimsuit and watching sunsets over salty oceans. There is a definite Australian coastal/boho vibe going on with a number of the pieces in this range, from swaying palm trees to aerial beach photography, to a colourful array of cheeky Australian birdlife. Each one of their artworks would sit well in any contemporary or coastal abode. As with most artworks that Urban Road produce, there’s a classy timelessness to each and equally as important – quite reasonably priced. It can be hard to find quality artworks at a good price – trust me, I own one of their framed prints, and am super impressed with the quality.

Rhapsody officially launches tomorrow - but we have the insider scoop and wanted to share this with you all prior. So swoon away and check out some of our personal favourites form the range. Shop these artworks and more at urbanroad.com.au.
