Bedroom Ledge

The hottest trend in bedrooms right now is a built-in ledge. We take a look at a few of our favourite examples of this style.

If you’re looking for something a little different to your standard bedhead, a bedroom ledge might be just what you’re looking for (although this is obviously better suited to home owners because it needs to be built). It gives great opportunity to add a decorative touch – and means you don’t need to buy a bedhead – simply push your ensemble up to it and use a couple of European pillows to create height and softness.

You could also paint just the bottom half of the ledge that comes out from the wall in a contrasting colour to the rest of the wall, to help define the bed. And of course with something like this, you can change up the colouring every time you feel like changing up your room’s colour palette – great for those who like to change things up regularly.

I also love this example pictured opposite – and how they have followed the timber floorboards right up to the ledge to create an interesting bedhead.

You could even add a long piece of timber along the ledge to create a line that draws your eye along the width of the room. So many great ideas here to consider.
